Connie Meland

My Fitness/ Pilates teaching experiences spans over 20 years. I have always had a passion for fitness and actively maintained a healthy lifestyle by incorporating fitness
exercises into my everyday living. As my passion for teaching fitness developed, I studied and researched various formats in exercise philosophy. While attending a Mat Pilates Course at Macomb Community College, I realized I found my passion! Pilates was so inspirational, totally unique from any fitness format which I have practiced. I was in awe with the concept of listening to the body, flowing through the movements, with strong precise movements. There is an intension with every movement.
After completing the course, I studied, trained to understand the concept further to incorporate the unique movements of the body. My 1st Pilates Certification, Physical Mind Institute, was Mat & Standing. Certified 2005. I reinforced this knowledge by teaching at various Gyms, Studios, Clubs & Private Sessions with clients and students. While teaching Mat Pilates, I also taught Group Fitness classes certified with AFAA My passion for Studio Pilates was ignited, and I was compelled to now include Studio Apparatus in my training and teaching. I studied and certified in STOTT Pilates, Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs & Barrels and loved the enhancement the Apparatus has to offer. Continuing and enhancing my knowledge with workshops and specialized training to further broaden my instructor expertise, ISP Injuries Special Population is included. Pilates can enhance clients/ members from a Rehab approach to Athletic Training.
Guiding clients / members through their wellness journey and experiencing their health improvements is the greatest satisfaction I find as an instructor. Members / clients are
dedicated and work very hard to reach their goals. I feel honored that I can be a part in their journey of wellness.
